Research Methods (HUMM003)

15 credits

This interdisciplinary module will introduce you to a selection of key quantitative and qualitative research strategies. Transdisciplinary, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research has emerged at a time in which the increased complexity of both the natural and social worlds, and their relationship to one another, demand more integrated thinking around current research challenges and sustainability. This module will enable you to appreciate diverse methods of research and how to apply them to heritage analysis and management. This will help to prepare you for the experience of researching and working in heritage by familiarising you with the methodologies and technologies that stakeholders from both heritage and non-heritage backgrounds may refer to and utilise. By experiencing the challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary research, you will develop skills in integrated thinking, enabling you to approach future heritage challenges from a more sustainable and holistic perspective.
