Paula van Eenennaam Sánchez

Paula is a PhD researcher at the University of Exeter, a marketing professional, and co-editor of Exclamat!on: An Interdisciplinary Journal, an open access, peer-reviewed publication platform for postgraduate research in English, Creative Writing, and Film, based at Exeter.

Her work moves across industry and academia, connecting brand strategy and campaign thinking with literary and cultural research. Her doctoral project examines the entanglement of trees, language, and power in contemporary North American literature, drawing on ecocriticism, new materialism, critical plant studies, and Indigenous and Black critical thought to interrogate how language assigns value and animacy across the human and nonhuman divide, and what more-than-human futures might look like beyond logics of extraction.
