Rinat Harel
Postgraduate Researcher
English and Creative Writing
About me:
I hold bachelor's and master’s degrees in fine art and studied creative writing at Emerson College in Boston USA, where I received the 2015 Nonfiction Award.
My writing has been shortlisted in the 2017 OWT Short Fiction Competition and published in literary magazines such as East Coast Ink, The Masters Review, Consequences Magazine, Canyon Voices, Dunes Review, and more. I also served as the translation editor of Women’s Voices from Kurdistan: A selection of contemporary Kurdish poetry, published by Transnational Press London 2021.
With a Ph.D. candidate in Creative Writing from the University of Exeter, my work in progress is a collection of interlinked stories that intertwine the autobiographical and the fictional, the real and the surreal, the historical and the speculative, touching upon themes such as life in Israel, home/homeland, war, Un/Belonging, the Holocaust, and intergenerational memory.
