Postgraduate Researcher
English and Creative Writing
Repona Tai is currently a Ph. D. candidate at the English and Creative Writing Department of the University of Exeter and her thesis title is ‘The Aesthetic Politics of the Modernist Subject: The Self in the Event of Truth’ examining the works of the two prominent high modernist figures James Joyce and Virginia Woolf, and the inter-relationship of affects, truth, and subjectivity. She is interested in modernist aesthetics and politics, arguing that the inward turning of modernist fiction is the truth process of creating a new sensory subject that apprehends and adjoins with the outside world of chaos inwardly.
