About me:
I am a PhD student co-funded by the University of Exeter and the China Scholarship Council (CSC). After completing my BA in Finance at the Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2014, I changed my major to English Literature and completed my MA at Peking University in 2019.
My research interest focuses on Victorian novels and my PhD project is about humour and gender politics in nineteenth-century women’s writing. This project is supervised by Dr Tricia Zakreski and Dr Daisy Hay.
The conferences I attended and presented papers include: Women and Humour in the Long Nineteenth Century Conference (2021) and the British Association for Victorian Studies Annual Conference (2022).
I am now working as a Teaching Assistant on the first-year Approaches to Criticism module at the University of Exeter.
