English and Creative Writing

Global engagement

The department of English and Creative Writing has an outstanding international reputation, ranked in the Top 100 QS World Ranking and rated 1st in the UK for Research Environment.

Our Faculty members are actively engaged in numerous international research projects and networks, which include recent collaborations with the University of British Columbia, Ewha Womans University, University of Adelaide, Lisbon University, and University of Geneva, while our academics are regularly invited to speak at international conferences and universities.

We value our diverse student and staff body, and endeavour to make Exeter a welcoming place to study and live in. For visiting students and researchers, Exeter brings world-leading teaching and research together with a safe, vibrant, and liveable city, surrounded by miles of stunning coast and countryside. It is a UNESCO City of Literature and has a range of excellent bookshops and literary events. It is also just over 2 hours on the train from London.
